An 18th-century cordial glass is a small stemware vessel crafted specifically for drinking concentrated spirits and sweetened liqueurs. These pieces reflect the glassmaking techniques of the Georgian era, characterised by heavy lead crystal composition and long, solid stems.

Georgian glassware was manufactured using lead glass, also known as flint glass, which provided superior clarity and density. The pieces were hand-blown and assembled in sections, often incorporating a folded foot created by turning the hot rim under to strengthen the base against chipping.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit a snapped pontil mark on the underside of the base, subtle air bubbles or seed inclusions within the metal, and a slightly asymmetrical hand-blown profile. The folded foot edge will feel doubled in thickness along the bottom perimeter.
