Rare 19th Century Glass Tumbler With Radial Moulded Base C1850

Technical Description
An exceptional 19th century glass tumbler dating to c1850.
It has a tapered form with slice cutting to the lower section and a solid section at the base. Sits on a very rare radial moulded foot. Only the 2nd example we have ever had with this foot design and a very good size which can be used for anything from Whisky to a G&T or an iced cocktail.

Historical Context
Some interesting historical context, on March 19th 1831, the first ever reported bank robbery in U.S. history took place at the City Bank of New York. In August 1830 the 1st American built locomotive, ''Tom Thumb'' raced a horse-drawn car from Stockton and Stokes stagecoach company...from Baltimore to Ellicott Mills. Due to mechanical problems, the horse won!
