Antique glass should always be washed by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes, and dried carefully with a lint-free cloth.

Antique glassware can be displayed inside glass-fronted cabinets, on open shelving as part of a curated collection, or used functionally on a bar cart to introduce historical character.

Authentic pieces often exhibit pontil marks on the base, minor surface wear from age, small air bubbles trapped within the metal, and characteristic hand-formed proportions typical of pre-industrial glassmaking.

Georgian drinking glasses were typically hand-blown using lead glass, which offered a heavier feel, higher clarity, and a resonant ring when struck.

A dram glass is a small drinking vessel historically used for serving spirits, cordials, or whisky in 18th-century Britain and Europe.
