Georgian glassware, produced during the reigns of the Georges from 1714 to 1830, is characterised by heavy lead metal composition, deep pontil marks, and simple yet robust silhouettes shaped by glass-blowing techniques.

These items were handcrafted from lead glass or potash metal, utilising metallic oxides such as cobalt to achieve rich, saturated hues like deep blue.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit surface wear, slight asymmetries from hand-blowing, rough snapped pontil scars on the underside of the foot, and tiny trapped air bubbles within the metal.

Antique coloured glassware can be displayed prominently on open shelving, within glass-fronted cabinets, or used selectively on a dining table to introduce historical texture and vibrant colour pops.

Antique glass should be washed by hand in lukewarm water using a mild, non-abrasive detergent, and dried carefully with a lint-free linen cloth to prevent thermal shock and scratching.
