Air twist glasses feature elongated air bubbles trapped within the stem, drawn out into spiral threads during manufacture, which became popular in mid-eighteenth century British glassmaking.

These pieces were hand-blown using lead glass or soda glass, with stems manipulated while molten to create intricate internal air channels before being finished with wheel-engraving.

Authenticity is indicated by pontil marks on the base, minor surface wear consistent with age, irregular bubble formations within the metal, and historical manufacturing traits unique to the period.

Displaying antique stemware inside illuminated glass cabinets or on open shelving allows the delicate silhouettes and historical engravings to serve as focal points in a dining room.

Historic glass should always be hand-washed in lukewarm water using mild detergent, dried immediately with a lint-free cloth, and kept away from direct sunlight and extreme temperature fluctuations.
