Preservation requires keeping the ceramics out of direct sunlight, avoiding abrasive cleaning agents, dusting gently with a dry microfiber cloth, and protecting the fragile tin glaze from accidental impacts.

These pieces function as striking focal points on credenzas, mantels, or display cabinets, contrasting effectively against minimalist architectural backdrops or paired with neutral textures to highlight their intricate patterns.

Authenticity is assessed by examining the crazing of the tin glaze, hand-painted brushwork inconsistencies, the presence of kiln spurs or foot ring marks, and often hand-painted maker marks or factory ciphers on the base.

Authentic period pieces were typically thrown from local clays, coated with an opaque tin-lead glaze to create a white surface, hand-painted with mineral oxides, and then fired multiple times in a kiln.

Delft polychrome pottery originated in the Netherlands during the 17th and 18th centuries, heavily influenced by imported Chinese porcelain and Japanese Imari wares, expanding beyond traditional blue and white to include iron red, green, and yellow pigments.
