18th Cent Welsh Longcase Long Case Grandfather Clock

A very smart 18th by Thomas Davies of Carmarthen (Wales). He is listed as working there from 1782 to 1835.
It has a very good quality mahogany case with beautifully figured veneers. It stands on a paneled base with original bracket feet. The long trunk door has its original lock and key. The hood has bold reeded columns and a swan neck pedement with turned wood patria and brass ball and eagle finial.
The good quality 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a very smart silvered dial with subsidiary seconds dial and date indicator. It has a nice pair of matching weights and pendulum that look original.
The case is in good unrestored condition and has retained its original finish. The movement is also in good condition, running well and keeping good time.
