Sinclairs Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The superb quality face having a wonderful arched hand painted moon roller showing fazes of the moon and date. The 16" dial has female figures representing the four seasons in each corner and a scene depicting " Death of Richard III" in the centre. The face has a cream chapter ring has black painted roman numerals, an additional dial for seconds and decorative embossed brass hands. The case has a beautifully shaped door flanked by 2 more barley twist columns and covered in amazing flame mahogany veneers with crossbanded decoration. Like all antiques there imperfections however this is a striking looking clock with wonderful warm colouring and amazing patina. This is an outstanding antique clock and a true statement piece.
