Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Pearline glass was introduced in 1889 by George Davidson & Co of Gateshead, England. It gained immense popularity in the late 19th century due to its distinctive blue or yellow body complemented by an opaque, milky white rim.

Pearline glass was created by adding chemicals such as cryolite or bone ash to molten glass batches. When pressed into moulds and selectively reheated, the areas exposed to temperature changes developed an opalescent white shading along the edges.

Authentic Davidson pearline glass frequently features raised Registration Numbers (Rd No) stamped into the glass design, specific geometric mould patterns, and a characteristic translucent blue or lemon tint with opalescent white highlighting on the rims.

A pearline glass cake stand functions well as a decorative table centrepiece, a display stand for fruit on a sideboard, or an elevated surface for trinkets in a dressing room.

Hand wash antique pressed glass using lukewarm water and mild dish detergent. Avoid dishwashers and sudden temperature changes, which can cause thermal shock and lead to stress fractures in historical glassware.
