Description

A stunning large Moorcroft bulbous shape vase in the Orchid pattern on a blue ground, dating from c1930. It is signed and initialed to the base by William Moorcroft and impressed with ‘potter to HM The Queen’.

This is an absolutely beautiful piece of Moorcroft pottery, decorated with orchid blooms and foliage in vibrant colours over a rich blue background.

Condition: There is some light crazing to the glaze, but no chips, cracks or damage. In excellent condition.

These pieces are crafted from high-grade white earthenware or clay, shaped either by casting or turning, and hand-painted with metallic oxide glazes before undergoing multiple high-temperature kiln firings.
