A rather lovely Mahogany 8 day Grandfather Clock by W Taylor of Glasgow and surviving from around c1840.
 
In very good condition works well and keeps time and with all original parts.
 
Standing on four bun feet above a panelled stem with cushion trunk door and keyhole shaped case.
 
Having a japanned dial and with Roman numerals numbers and an anchor escapement and rack striking on a single bell.
 
This clock will be sent with the old purchase price invoice from the previous owner in 2001 which was £4400.
 
Happy to send a video of the sound of the bell on request.
 
With a lovely deep colour and patination and oozing all the charm and character of the period. Our furniture is cleaned and polished using traditional waxing methods.
