In a small, inlaid mahogany case with a bridge-arched elaborated top. The top also has a chamfer that is surmounted with a ball finial upon a pedestal. The well-figured front is inlaid with geometric pattern brass and roundels with ebony centres. The case is framed with brass inlaid raised ebony moulding and the short all-round plinth has a flat ebony top with the front also being inlaid. The case sides have Gothic arched sound apertures with cloth-backed, cast brass, fish scale frets. The re
...ar has a glazed and locking arched door, the front has a locking, cast brass bezel with bowed glass. The clock sits upon 4 cast brass, Ogee feet.
Dimensions: Total height 13” x 7” wide x 5” deep - at the feet.
Circa: 1810
Condition: The movement is working perfectly and has recently been fully overhauled to a very high standard. The dial is almost perfect which is unusual for a period enamel dial because they usually have expansion cracks and winding damage around the holes. The case is in very good condition and displaying superb colour, patina and a pleasant aged appearance. It is sound and the locks etc are fully working. The pictures do not serve this lovely little clock justice and the case is so small that the movement fills it. It is amazing that this beautiful clock is 225 years old.
Price: The price is for the clock with the movement restored, fully guaranteed and delivered safely.
