Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Kutani porcelain is a traditional style of Japanese ceramic ware originating from Kaga Province in the 17th century, celebrated for its rich, overglaze enamel decoration and intricate narrative or botanical panel artwork.

Kutani ceramics are crafted from kaolin clay fired at high temperatures to form dense porcelain, which is then decorated with vitreous overglaze enamels in signature iron-red, turquoise, yellow, purple, and green pigments.

Authentic 19th-century pieces generally exhibit detailed hand-painted overglaze enamels, faint surface wear consistent with age, fine iron-red line work, traditional character marks on the base, and sculpted features such as shishi lion finials.

A large decorative porcelain jar serves as a strong focal point when displayed on a dark wood sideboard, in a foyer console arrangement, or styled inside a minimalist alcove to provide visual contrast.

Clean antique porcelain using a soft, dry microfibre cloth to dust the surface gently, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners, immersion in water, or abrasive materials that could wear down delicate overglaze enamels.
