Chalfont Clocks has dated this piece to the 18th Century.

This charming clock is in the late Louis XV style and demonstrates the transition between the baroque to neoclassical, surmounted by a classical urn the sides swell into mirrored scrolls with laurel swags and pine cone finials, with a crisp white enamel dial and engraved, gilded hands.

This clock is the epitome of 18th Century french taste, the original gilding is still present and gives a beautiful patina of age. Of particular note is the original high domed convex glass to the front of the dial and, the small scale of the case, being very much smaller than most clocks of this date.
This clock is shown unserviced, it will be serviced and will come with our two year guarantee, further restoration can be carried out to the buyer’s specifications.
