Carse Antiques has dated this piece to the 17th Century.
All the cornice and mouldings are all cross grain walnut. The cabinet has a single fixed shelf in the middle. The top section lifts off the base section for moving.

The base has been made in the late 19th century but to an exceptionally high standard as can be seen in the pictures.
The whole piece is a lovely colour and would make an ideal drinks cabinet in a dining room (which was exactly its use when I purchased it privately from a large country house).
Basically this is a beautiful and very practical piece of furniture that is very inexpensive.
