Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Famille Rose porcelain, known in Chinese as Fencai, was developed during the Qing Dynasty in the early 18th century. Characterised by an opaque pink enamel derived from colloidal gold, these decorative ceramic jars and vases were frequently converted into table lamps during the 19th and 20th centuries for European and American export markets.

These lamps consist of a hand-thrown, high-fired kaolin clay body decorated with overglaze enamel pigments. The porcelain vase is typically mounted onto a cast bronze, brass, or carved wooden base and topped with an electrical fitting and silk or fabric shade.

Authentic 19th-century pieces feature hand-applied enamels with perceptible surface texture, slight irregularities in the glaze, and natural wear around the unglazed foot rim. The brushwork in the narrative panels or floral reserves displays intricate detail rather than modern transfer-printed uniform lines.

A Famille Rose porcelain lamp serves as a classic focal point when positioned on a dark mahogany sideboard, a lacquered side table, or a modern console. Pairing the detailed ceramic body with a neutral pleated fabric shade balances traditional craftsmanship with contemporary interior schemes.

Dust the porcelain body regularly using a soft, dry microfibre cloth or a soft-bristled brush. Avoid abrasive chemical cleaners or immersing the lamp base in water to protect the overglaze enamels and internal electrical wiring.
