A carriage clock is a small, spring-driven clock designed for travelling during the 19th century, typically featuring a brass case with glass panels to view the movement.

These clocks are traditionally constructed from gilded brass or bronze cases housing precision steel and brass gear trains, fitted with bevelled glass panels and enamel dials.

Authentic Drocourt clocks typically feature the makers trademark stamp on the backplate, comprising the initials D.C. with a carriage emblem, alongside serial numbers and fine cylinder or lever escapements.

Place the clock on a prominent surface such as a mantelpiece, bookshelf, or executive desk where its metallic sheen and mechanical visibility can be appreciated as a focal point.

Dust the exterior gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and avoid using chemical polishes on gilded surfaces. Mechanical movements should be professionally serviced every few years to ensure proper functioning.
