This attractive slim mantel clock has fine marquetry inlays into rosewood and has good colour and patina. It has an engine turned silvered dial with engraved Roman numerals. The case has boxwood line inlays and floral marquetry. A door on the back to access the movement which is an 8 day french countwheel with Bell striking. The hinged cast brass bezel/door on the front allows the time to be set and the clock to be wound from the front. The gilt handle to the top is useful as well pretty! Meyer was a good clockmaker working out of Paris in the middle of the 19th Century and exported to the U.K. their fine clocks.
As seen on T.V. Salvage Hunters - The Restorers ! Please remember we are closed Sundays and Mondays, open every other day from 9am until 5pm . If we have not responded to an email, we may not have received it...please call or whatsapp us as well.
