18th Cent Oak & Mahogany 8 Day Longcase Clock

Description

A pretty little longcase clock of nice small size. The case is in oak with some decorative mahogany banding and inlay. The associated 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a decorative brass dial with gilt brass spandrels and silvered chapter ring. The dial is signed by the maker Nathanial Plimer of Wellington, Shropshire

The case is in good condition and has retained its original finish but has the inevitable fine shrinkage crack to the base. The movement is in working order but would probably benefit from a clean some time in the future.

The maximum dimensions are:

52cm (20.5“) wide

190cm (75“) high

27cm (10.5“) deep
