Edwardian furniture, produced during the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, often combined lighter proportions with influences from earlier periods such as Sheraton, Chippendale, and Hepplewhite.

Cabinet makers of this era predominantly used mahogany, satinwood, and walnut, frequently incorporating intricate inlay work, crossbanding, and solid brass fittings.

Authentication involves examining drawer construction for hand-cut dovetailing, checking for period-appropriate timber shrinkage, and looking for makers marks or stamps from the early 20th century.

Pairing dark wood antique furniture with neutral walls, minimalist lighting, and curated decorative objects creates a balanced focal point that bridges traditional and modern aesthetics.

Preserve antique surfaces by keeping them out of direct sunlight, maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, and periodically applying high-quality beeswax while avoiding harsh chemical cleaners.
