An Art Deco diamond engagement ring from circa 1930, made in platinum with a silver and white colour scheme. The piece holds an old mine cut central diamond secured in a four-claw collet with triangular detailing in the gallery, alongside ornate carved shoulders and a slim, D-shaped shank. The visual details include polished metal surfaces, openwork wirework in the gallery, and distinct facet patterns across the stone. The diamond is 4.8 x 4.75 mm and sits 6.0 mm from the finger, with a total weight of 2.74 grams. This ring suits daily wear on a finger as an engagement or dress piece. It fits well into traditional or period jewellery collections and sits comfortably on the hand for social occasions or everyday use.

Rings from the 1930s often bridge late Edwardian refinement and classic Art Deco geometry, featuring single hand-cut diamonds mounted in platinum or white gold settings with decorative shoulder detailing.

During this period, fine jewellery was predominantly crafted using platinum, 18-carat white gold, or yellow gold paired with hand-faceted diamonds such as old mine cuts and European cuts.

An old mine cut diamond typically features a cushion-shaped outline, a high crown, a small table facet, a deep pavilion, and a visible flat culet at the base.

A vintage solitaire ring can be worn alone as a focal piece or stacked alongside fine plain metal bands and modern diamond eternity rings.

Clean the ring using warm water, mild liquid detergent, and a soft-bristled brush, and schedule periodic inspections with a qualified jeweller to ensure the claws remain secure.
