Antique Victorian 18ct Solid Gold, Carved Half Hoop Five Stone Diamond Ring
A really beautiful 18ct gold ring that was made circa 1880-1900. It has been claw set with five well matched bright white transition cut diamonds. The total estimated weight is 1.55 carats. There are tiny diamond “points” as they are called in between the stones which give the ring a good line. The sides are called “carved half hoop” because of the scroll work decoration. It follows the curve of a finger and sits low when worn.
This is a superb example of a Victorian period Antique,18ct yellow gold claw carved set, five stone, graduating old cut diamond half-hoop ring, inter set with four pairs of very small rose chip diamonds. Old cut diamonds assessed as approximately 1 x 0.50ct, 2 x 0.35ct, 2 x 0.175ct.
