Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Sheraton Revival open bookcase dates from 1900 and derives from a gentleman's library design tradition. Formed from mahogany with satinwood crossbanding and boxwood line inlays, the timber displays a rich warm brown colour with visible natural grain patterns across the backboards, shelves, and top surface. The construction incorporates three levels of open shelving within a rectangular framework, supported by slender tapered square legs at the base. The exterior surfaces show precise stringing details framing the uprights, frieze, and crossbanded top edge. Measuring 105 cm high, 107 cm wide, and 29 cm deep, the unit provides compact vertical storage suitable for studies, home offices, or living spaces. Placed against a wall in a contemporary interior, the bookcase holds books, decorative objects, or display pieces while occupying a modest footprint on the floor.

Originating in late 19th and early 20th-century Britain, Sheraton Revival furniture emulates Thomas Sheratons late 18th-century Neoclassical designs, characterised by slender tapered legs, geometric forms, and delicate wood inlays.

These pieces were primarily crafted from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers, often incorporating contrasting boxwood or satinwood stringing and bandings along the borders.

Genuine examples feature square tapered legs, clean vertical lines, hand-cut joinery, dovetail or mortise-and-tenon joints, and high-quality veneering with fine decorative crossbanding.

Position the bookcase in a living area or home office, styling the open shelves with a curated mix of bound literature, ceramic pottery, and small sculptures to balance traditional craftsmanship with modern minimalist decor.

Keep the timber away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent cracking or fading, dust regularly with a soft dry microfiber cloth, and apply a high-grade beeswax polish annually.
