This Georgian clear lead glass drinking vessel originates from England around 1760. The form comprises a flared rim, three concentric lip rings, a waisted body, a gadrooned lower body, and a raised circular pedestal foot. The transparent glass catches the light along its vertical walls, highlighting the moulded ribs and the horizontal rings encircling the waist. The vessel stands 12.5 cm high, with a rim diameter of 9.5 cm and a foot diameter of 7.5 cm, weighing 391 grams. Condition is very good, presenting a clean profile with smooth surfaces. In a modern interior, this piece serves as a decorative or functional accent on a dining room sideboard top. Collectors of 18th-century English glassware use similar vessels for display within traditional cabinets or open shelving. The sturdy pedestal base and substantial weight provide stability when placed on wooden sideboards or console tables. The straightforward silhouette integrates easily into English country house style rooms alongside other period glassware or ceramics.

Georgian glassware produced in Britain during this era is characterised by heavy lead-glass formulations, handcrafted proportions, and decorative features such as moulded gadrooning and flared rims.

These vessels were crafted from high-lead glass, known for its density, clarity, and resonant quality, created using hand-blown and dip-moulding techniques.

Authentic pieces typically feature slight hand-crafting variations, subtle grey or greenish tinting in dense areas, pontil marks on the base, and age-appropriate wear to the foot rim.

A single glass drinking vessel functions as a subtle decorative accent when placed on a sideboard top, bookshelf, or display tray alongside complementary period objects.

Wash gently by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding sharp temperature changes to prevent thermal shock and avoiding mechanical dishwashers.
