Description

Antique 19th century oil lamp with a brass column, a decorative and elegant piece of good quality, showcasing the charm and craftsmanship of the classic English parlour lamp.

It has a clear moulded swirl glass font fitted with a brass Duplex twin-wick burner, its two wick winders stamped Made in England Duplex. It comes complete with its glass chimney, brass shade ring and a clear optic swirl glass tulip shade.

The font sits on a rope-twist brass column with turned collars, raised on a cast brass base with scrolling acanthus feet.

The brass has a warm, mellow patina and the glass catches the light beautifully, giving a lovely glow whether lit or simply on display.

Presented in good condition with some minor signs of age and use consistent with its age. A very desirable piece, perfect for a sideboard, mantelpiece, side table or window, in a period or country home.
