This large French Empire style chandelier, dating from 1910, follows a tent and waterfall profile suspended from a central hook. It has an aged gilt brass frame finished in brass tones, holding multiple strands of clear faceted glass beads and diamond lustres at the upper section. The lower assembly consists of a pierced brass gallery encircling three illuminated lightbulbs, bordered by three tiers of hanging icicle crystal drops. The entire fitting measures 84 cm high and 36 cm wide. It functions as an overhead ceiling light source suited for placement within a traditional hallway, dining room, or principal reception area.

A French Empire style chandelier is defined by its tent and waterfall silhouette, featuring strands of faceted glass beads tapering upwards to a crown and cascading downward in tiered drops around a metal framework.

These chandeliers are characteristically constructed using cut crystal or glass beads, metal wire pins, and cast brass or bronze frames that provide structural support for the glass tiers.

Authentic pieces feature hand-pinned glass octagons, hand-cut crystal drops with subtle variation, solid brass or bronze galleries, and aged metal patination.

An Empire chandelier can be suspended above a dining table or placed in an entryway to introduce architectural structure and formal contrast to modern interior schemes.

Maintain crystal light fittings by dusting with a dry microfibre cloth and carefully wiping individual droplets using a specialized glass cleaner applied directly to a cloth.
