This clear and frosted moulded glass car mascot takes the form of an eagle head in profile, dating from the 1920 Art Deco period. The sculpture displays detailed feather carving along the neck and head, a hooked beak with nostril definition, and an eye within a circular surround, all finished in a combination of clear and frosted glass with a dull grey hue. The base has expected wear marks and a circular turned profile, standing on a round mounting foot. This sculpture measures 11 cm high. Suitable for display in a modern office or study, the piece functions well as a decorative desk ornament.

Designed primarily during the 1920s and 1930s, glass car mascots were decorative radiator bonnet ornaments mounted on luxury automobiles, popularized by designers such as Rene Lalique as symbols of speed and style.

They were produced using press-moulded glass or demi-crystal, utilizing contrasting polished and frosted surfaces to accentuate sculptural depth and hand-finished anatomical details.

Authentic pieces generally feature moulded or acid-etched period signatures such as R. LALIQUE, precise relief moulding, correct weight and proportions, and evidence of mounting wear appropriate to its age.

These sculptural glass objects are frequently displayed on an office desk, styled within a glazed bookcase, or positioned on a mantlepiece where light can illuminate the frosted detail.

Wash gently with warm water and mild liquid soap using a soft microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh chemical cleansers or abrasive materials that could alter the frosted surface finish.
