Edwardian silver, produced between 1901 and 1910, is characterised by lighter, more refined designs often influenced by earlier periods such as the Neoclassical and Louis XVI styles, following the heavier ornamentation of the Victorian era.

These items typically feature a sterling silver frame and handle, hallmarked for purity, fitted with a high-clarity optical glass lens.

Authenticity is verified through clear hallmarks stamped directly into the silver, indicating the makers mark, the city of assay, the standard of silver (such as the lion passant for sterling), and a date letter corresponding to the early 20th century.

Place the piece on a stack of art books on a coffee table or incorporate it into a study desk arrangement alongside other small curiosities to add textural contrast and historical interest.

Clean the silver periodically using a soft, non-abrasive microfibre cloth and specialized silver polish to remove tarnish, avoiding contact with the optical glass lens.
