Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

The open shelving design comprises five shelves set within a frame featuring notched front mouldings, a low arched top rail, and a central roundel detail to the back gallery. Measuring 105 cm high, 49 cm wide, and 15 cm deep, the unit provides a compact profile suited to storing books and displaying decorative items in a living room, study, or hallway. The construction is solid timber with visible grain variations across the panels and shelves, offering functional storage in a traditional home office or reception space.

FAQs

Art Deco bookcases from the 1920s and 1930s often feature streamlined geometric forms, subtle carved or moulded details, and functional open or glazed shelving crafted from rich hardwoods.

Craftsmen typically utilised solid hardwoods such as oak, walnut, and mahogany, often enhanced with carved geometric side mouldings and polished finishes.

Authentic pieces generally display period joinery techniques, geometric pediments or roundel details, and original varnish or wax finishes with natural patina.

Pair the warm wood tones with minimalist ceramics, curated book collections, or framed art to create a balanced focal point in a home office, hallway, or living space.

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish periodically along the grain to protect the timber and maintain its lustre.
