A rummer is a heavy type of drinking glass with a short stem and a round bowl, which became widely popular in Britain during the late 18th and early 19th centuries for serving wine, beer, or punch.

Georgian rummers were typically hand-blown using lead glass, which provided a heavy weight and clear resonance, and were frequently decorated using wheel-engraving or diamond-point techniques.

Authentic pieces often exhibit pontil marks on the base, minor irregularities from hand-blowing, greyish tone in the lead crystal, and period-specific motifs such as commemorative bridges, ships, or floral garlands.

Antique glass pieces can be displayed within glass-fronted cabinets, utilized on open shelving to catch the light, or styled atop sideboards to add historical texture to contemporary spaces.

Antique glass should be washed by hand in lukewarm water using a mild, non-abrasive detergent, and dried carefully with a lint-free cloth, avoiding sudden temperature changes to prevent thermal shock.
