Cruet sets gained immense popularity during the Georgian and Victorian eras, continuing into the Edwardian period as essential table accessories for holding condiments like vinegar, oil, mustard, and pepper.

Authentic cruet frames are typically crafted from sterling silver or silver plate, holding hand-cut or pressed glass bottles fitted with matching metal lids and collars.

Authenticity is verified by examining makers marks, hallmarks, or EPNS (Electro Plated Nickel Silver) stamps on the base or mounts, alongside the weight and hand-cut precision of the glass bottles.

This piece works well as a sophisticated centrepiece on a dining table, displayed on a sideboard, or used as a decorative accent in a traditional kitchen.

Clean silver plate gently using a non-abrasive silver polish to avoid wearing the plating, and wash the glass components by hand with warm, soapy water.
