Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

An 18th-century English country house style cabinet on stand takes the form of an upper cupboard placed upon a matching low table. The piece uses walnut and oak, showing warm brown timber colours with circular veneer patterning on the double doors and feather banding details. A cushion-moulded frieze crowns the top above two frieze drawers fitted with small keyhole escutcheons. Below, four barley twist legs stand upon a curved wavy stretcher. Measuring 168 cm high, 117 cm wide and 59 cm deep, the furniture sits against a wall in a living room, hallway or study. The doors open to display internal compartments while the lower drawers provide additional storage space for everyday items.

A cabinet on stand is a traditional form of storage furniture featuring an enclosed upper cupboard mounted atop a raised table or leg structure, popularised in Western Europe during the late 17th and 18th centuries.

Craftsmen typically utilised secondary timbers such as oak or pine for the internal carcass, veneering the exterior with figured walnut, olive wood, or marquetry, resting on turned solid wood legs.

Authentic period pieces exhibit hand-sawn dovetail drawer joints, original iron or brass lock mechanisms, natural veneer shrinkage lines, and hand-turned barley twist or cabriole legs with shaped stretchers.

Position the piece as a focal point against a neutral backdrop in a dining room, living area, or hallway, balancing its substantial dark wood tones with minimalist wall art or contemporary lighting.

Dust the surface regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish annually to protect the veneer while keeping the furniture clear of direct heat sources and damp environments.
