This George II period wine glass dates from around 1730 and belongs to the balustroid style of English stemware. Formed from clear lead glass, the piece consists of a flared bell bowl set above a balustroid knopped stem and a wide conical folded foot. Visible details include tiny air bubbles trapped within the clear metal, a rounded collar beneath the bowl, and a circular molding around the perimeter of the foot. It stands 15.2 cm high. Positioned on a sideboard top, this small antique vessel brings period character to a gentleman's library or dining room interior. It is suited for display within a collection of early glassware or for use as a decorative accent piece on a surface. The photograph reveals the clear transparency of the glass, the rounded profile of the knop on the stem, and the circular folded rim of the foot, which are not mentioned in the dealer's text.

A balustroid glass is an 18th-century British drinking vessel characterised by a stem featuring a modified or lighter form of the traditional baluster knop, popular during the George II period.

These glasses were hand-blown using heavy lead crystal glass, featuring folded or plain conical feet, drawn or applied stems with knopping, and solid bases to ensure stability.

Authentic pieces typically show evidence of period hand-crafting, such as a pontil mark on the base, minor air bubbles within the metal, and wear on the underside of the foot rim.

Display these individual glassware pieces within illuminated glazed cabinets, on a dining room sideboard tray, or as part of a curated antique glass collection on open shelving.

Hand wash gently in lukewarm water using a mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes and dishwashers, and dry immediately with a soft lint-free cloth to prevent clouding.
