We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An 18th-century linen press was traditionally used in domestic households to store household linens, sheets, and garments flat, often utilizing sliding trays or shelves behind the upper doors before modern hanging wardrobes became standard.

These items are typically constructed from solid quarter-sawn oak with hand-cut dovetail joints on the drawers, pegged mortise and tenon frame construction, and fitted with brass hardware such as swan-neck handles and escutcheons.

Authentic pieces display period-appropriate joinery such as hand-cut dovetails, irregular hand-planed surfaces, natural timber shrinkage, timber grain oxidation consistent with age, and period-correct iron or brass fixings.

This piece can serve as a functional statement storage unit in a bedroom or hallway, contrasting effectively against neutral plastered walls to highlight the warm tones and grain of the aged timber.

Maintain antique oak by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent timber splitting, applying microcrystalline wax periodically, and dusting gently with a dry, soft lint-free cloth.
