We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Art Deco furniture, emerging in the 1920s and 1930s, is characterised by sleek geometric shapes, streamlined forms, and the use of luxurious materials such as burr walnut, chrome, and exotic veneers.

Cabinet makers typically utilised solid secondary timbers like pine or mahogany as a carcase, overlaid with highly figured face veneers such as walnut, maple, or sycamore, often finished with polished lacquer.

Authentic pieces exhibit period construction techniques, including hand-cut dovetail joints in the drawers, traditional block hinges, matching book-veneer patterns, and appropriate ageing of the wood and hardware.

Pairing these distinctive cabinets with minimalist walls, neutral textiles, and contemporary lighting allows the rich wood grain and geometric silhouette to serve as focal points.

Maintain the finish by keeping pieces away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent veneer cracking, dusting with a soft dry cloth, and occasionally applying microcrystalline wax to nourish the wood.
