The Georgian era, spanning from 1714 to 1830, saw significant advancements in British glass production, particularly following the introduction of lead crystal, which allowed for clearer metal and deeper engraving.

Spiral twists, including air twists and opaque white twists, were crafted by trapping air bubbles or canes of white enamel glass within the molten metal before drawing and twisting the stem during formation.

Authentic pieces often exhibit pontil marks on the underside of the foot, variations in weight due to hand-blowing, and characteristic tool marks rather than modern machine-pressed seams.

Antique glassware adds historical texture when displayed within a glass-fronted cabinet or utilized as a focal point on a sideboard, pairing well with minimalist modern tablescapes to create contrast.

Antique glass should be washed by hand in lukewarm water using a mild, non-abrasive detergent, and dried immediately with a lint-free cloth to prevent water spots and protect the fragile material.
