Edwardian jewellery spans the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, a period known for delicate, feminine designs, platinum settings, and intricate enamel work often inspired by nature and insects.

These pieces typically feature sterling silver or gold mounts combined with translucent plique-a-jour or opaque enamel techniques to create vibrant, colourful insect and floral motifs.

Authentic pieces often show period-appropriate hallmarks, C-clasps or safety pins characteristic of the era, and hand-applied enamel with naturalistic colour gradients rather than modern machine stamping.

While primarily worn as personal accessories pinned to lapels, scarves, or hats, vintage brooches can also be mounted in small shadow boxes as decorative wall art for a classic study or bedroom.

Store enamel pieces away from direct sunlight to prevent fading, avoid harsh chemical dips that can damage delicate glass enamel, and clean gently with a soft microfibre cloth.
