Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The George III period, spanning from 1760 to 1820, is characterised by classical proportions, refined craftsmanship, and the predominant use of imported timbers such as mahogany, often featuring neoclassical decorative motifs.

Linen presses were typically constructed from solid hardwoods like mahogany or oak, featuring secondary woods such as pine or oak for drawer linings, hand-cut dovetail joints, and panelled doors housing sliding trays or shelves.

Authenticity is identified through hand-cut dovetailing, timber shrinkage consistency, original brass hardware or properly filled old fixing holes, hand-planed backboards, and natural wax patination developed over centuries.

An antique linen press serves as a striking focal point in a contemporary bedroom or hallway, offering functional storage while contrasting against neutral walls and minimalist furnishings.

Preserve antique mahogany by maintaining stable room temperatures, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent fading, and applying occasional applications of natural beeswax to nourish the timber.
