We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Eighteenth-century corner cupboards were designed specifically to fit into unused room corners, typically featuring robust timber construction, panelled doors, and often decorative paintwork or carving typical of the period.

These pieces were predominantly crafted from solid native timbers such as oak, elm, or pine, frequently complemented by hand-forged iron or brass hinges and locks.

Authentication relies on examining traditional joinery methods such as hand-cut dovetails, timber shrinkage patterns, old tool marks, and the patina accumulated on the wood surfaces over centuries.

Such pieces serve as functional focal points in contemporary spaces, providing vertical storage while introducing historical character and warmth against neutral walls.

Preservation involves maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, avoiding direct sunlight to protect the wood and paint, and occasionally applying microcrystalline wax to nourish the finish.
