FAQs

The Regency Neoclassical style draws heavily from ancient Greek and Roman motifs, featuring symmetrical designs, classical figures such as caryatids, and a refined use of gilt bronze and natural stone.

These pieces typically combine fire-gilt bronze, also known as ormolu, with turned white marble or alabaster bases, often accented with finely chased details and beaded mounts.

Authentic pieces are identified through hand-chased metalwork details, the weight and natural veining of the marble base, evidence of traditional assembly methods, and period-correct patination.

They make striking focal points when placed on a mantelpiece or sideboard, adding a layer of classical elegance and metallic warmth to transitional or contemporary interior schemes.

Clean surfaces gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth to avoid removing the delicate gold leaf or patination, and keep them away from direct moisture and harsh chemical cleaning agents.
