Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Edwardian era, spanning from 1901 to 1910, is characterised by a refined elegance that often combined utilitarian function with luxurious materials like sterling silver and exotic leathers.

These items were typically constructed from a brass or copper body encased in sterling silver, often wrapped in stitched leather such as pigskin or crocodile, featuring a captive or bayonet cap to prevent leaks.

Authentic pieces bear official British hallmarks stamped into the metal, which typically include a makers mark, the lion passant for sterling silver, a leopards head for London assay (or equivalent city mark), and a date letter.

Such pieces can be displayed on a bar cart, within a study bookcase, or atop a cabinet of curiosities as a sophisticated nod to historical craftsmanship.

Silver should be cleaned periodically with a non-abrasive polish to maintain its lustre, while the leather casing benefits from occasional treatment with a neutral leather conditioner to prevent drying and cracking.
