Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This clear cut-crystal ship decanter originates from the very early 19th century. The piece exhibits Edwardian glassware influences and fits a gentleman's library design vibe. Made from fine quality glass, the decanter features a broad flared base, starburst cuts, a faceted neck, and a matching round glass stopper. The transparent colour highlights the intricate engraved star motifs across the lower body and the geometric patterns on the stopper. Measuring 24 cm high and 22 cm wide, this item sits neatly on a sideboard top in a dining room, study, or living space to hold spirits or serve as a decorative display object.

FAQs

A ships decanter features a broad, flat base designed to prevent tipping on rolling sea vessel surfaces, traditionally used for serving spirits and fortified wines.

Traditional decanters are crafted from heavy lead crystal or cut glass, valued for high light refraction, optical clarity, and substantial weight.

Authentic pieces display hand-cut facet details, a ground glass stopper joint precisely fitted to the neck, weight in hand, and crisp geometry along cut geometric patterns.

Position this vessel on a timber sideboard, a marble bar cart, or a dark tray alongside clear glassware to capture ambient light and enhance entertainment spaces.

Hand wash with warm water and mild liquid soap, avoiding extreme temperature shifts, and use specialized cleaning beads to clear internal sediment without scratching.
