Glass Gelatine Apothecary Jar and Cover C1880

Description

This very decorative ANTIQUE GLASS APOTHECARY JAR AND COVER dates from circa 1880. It is reverse painted and bears the name ‘GELATINE’ in gilt.

The JAR retains its original gilded glass cover which remains bright and glowing. There is a good pontil mark to the base.

The condition is good. There are no cracks. There is some wear to the blue ground in the centre of the cartouche.
