P A Oxley Antique Clocks & Barometers has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The backplate fully engraved with scrolls and foliage. The round white convex dial with Roman chapters and matching brass hands. The mahogany case with engraved brass sound frets to the front and fretted brass frets to the sides. The top with three brass bordered pads and central brass handle. Standing on four brass ogee feet.
Note: Joseph Yorke Hatton is listed as working at number 40 Tooley Street, London in 1808.
