Mahogany Table Clock by Robert Wood of London

19th century
Description

A fine late 18th century mahogany table/bracket clock.

The 8 day duration five pillar two train fusee movement with verge escapement and striking and repeating the hour on a bell. The backplate engraved with scrolls, foliage and a central engraving of the Prince of Wales Feathers. The silvered brass dial engraved with the makers name and with Roman hours, Arabic minutes, circular date dial above VI, blued steel hands and with strike/silent facility to the arch. The plain mahogany bell top case with small brass finials to each corner, carrying handle, glass inspection windows to the side and standing on four brass ogee feet. Height: 17¾"
