Clockwise is delighted to present another quality Scottish Victorianlongcase clock, this one from the dynastic ''Black'' family. The mahogany case stands 80 inches tall on bracket feet and is crossbanded with oak and boxwood inlays to the base and trunk, the arched door retaining its original key and lock. The trunk is flanked by a quarter pillar to each side and has a decorative panel under the door. The hood is adorned with centre raised decoration below wooden original and restored finials and paterae to each swan neck pediment. The hood door is flanked by a tapered pillar each side with brass capitals to top and bottom. The 13 inch dial is a particular feature of the clock, the spandrels painted with scenes depicting the four seasons and the arch with an interior scene titled ''Fair Maid of Perth''. The clock also has both a subsidiary seconds and working date dial. Original stamped and pierced matching brass hands complete the stunning overall effect.The movement is an...
