FAQs

A Corinthian column lamp is a table lamp designed in the Neoclassical style, featuring a fluted shaft and an ornate capital modelled after classical Greek and Roman Corinthian architectural columns.

Antique column lamps are typically cast from solid brass or bronze, featuring heavy stepped bases for stability and detailed fluting achieved through precise metalwork casting techniques.

Authentic period pieces often exhibit cast weight, sharp casting detail around the acanthus leaf capital, hand-chased ornamentation on the base, and evidence of historical re-wiring or original bayonet fittings.

Position the lamp on a dark wood desk, console table, or bedside cabinet, pairing it with a tailored silk or linen shade to complement contemporary or traditional decor schemes.

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth, avoiding abrasive chemical cleaners that can strip protective lacquers or disturb natural brass oxidisation.
