Description

A very good quality French Louis XV style red tortoise shell and engraved brass mantel clock with scrolling inlaid foliate design throughout and bronze gilt scrolling mounts surmounted with putti to the top. The clock has decorative fretted brass panels to the sides and glass door to the front which shows the clocks sunburst pendulum. The cartouche dial has white enamel Roman numerals and the movement is a French eight day duration which strikes the hours and half hours a bell.
