Rosewood Balloon Mantel Clock

1900 - 1920
Description

Dating to the Edwardian period this charming balloon mantel clock is in original condition.

It has a rosewood case inlaid with a central satinwood shell motif, cross banded in Kingwood edged with boxwood stringing and stands on brass ball feet. It has a brass banded convex glass, an enamel dial with Roman numerals and is signed by the original retailer "Maple & Co Ltd. Paris & London."

It has an 14 day duration movement that strikes the hours and half hours on a gong.

The movement is signed "Ch Vcne 59398 Paris"
