French Repeating Carriage Clock Movement Fully Restored

19th century
Description

Hi

I have for sale an 1880s French striking and repeating carriage clock made in France striking on the gong and retailed by Barraud & Lunds Cornhill London.

This is a very heavy clock built to top spec and a must for the best of collections the case has been fully restored around two months ago.

The Case

The case is in solid shiny brass and stands 18cm high x 9cm wide with a depth of 8cm it is in good original condition with mint thick 5mm beveled sides/front/back door and top viewing glass.

The case is very heavy and shiny and very hard to photograph they do not do the clock justice at all in the gorge-style case.

The Dial

The dial is in original condition in white porcelain in mint condition, with stunning bold Roman numerals, the clock also retains its very fine original black spade hands.

The Movement

The movement is an eight-day time and strike which strikes the hours via a small sweet gong to the rear also has the repeater button on top to repeat the last hour strike, the movement has been fully restored so keeping a great time over the eight days.

Overall a very beautiful quality carriage clock by a top quality French maker that looks stunning on display and contains all of its original features this is quite a rare find these days.

I will ship worldwide and pack very carefully please read my feedback from other clock buyers.

Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
